Hi, I’m Alex. These past five years I’ve safely managed the delivery/relocation of two dozen sailboats and motor yachts as a delivery captain. I am proud to be recognized as a safe, reliable & trustworthy yacht master by my crew and clients. I love sharing my knowledge as an instructor & learning from the people I sail with. I have logged more than 100,000 sea miles, mostly blue water & mostly on sailboats. Prior to 9/11, I owned a parasailing company and I spent 3 years flying 1000’s of parasailers past Lady Liberty & the Twin Towers.

I am committed to completing the jobs I take on.

I have completed stringent training programs & obtained advanced maritime credentials.

I have a proper grasp of vessel maintenance & mechanical systems.

I am well trained and highly proficient in boat handling skills.

I haven’t done it all and I Love learning new things.

I’ve been on the water from the age of three & grew up in the approach path of Newark Airport in NJ; so naturally I eventually became both an airplane pilot & a boat captain. Grew up navigating the Jersey shore on my family’s powerboats, starting with a 12 ft. aluminum skiff & ending with a Luhrs 36. Learned to fly when I was in the Army. Following my honorable discharge, I spent 20 years as an actor/singer doing musical theater on Broadway & national tours. I landed my first big show at the age of 29 in the original Broadway cast of Les Miserables.

A few years later, while on tour with J.C. Superstar in Toronto, I was asked to crew on a 37 ft. sailboat on Lake Ontario & that’s when I fell in love with sailing!

In the early 2000’s I moved to Barbados & a few years later I opened one of the island’s top night spots. Lexy Piano Bar & Restaurant, specialized in live entertainment, sushi & teppanyaki. I love Japanese food! While in Barbados a beautiful woman and a beautiful Sweden 42 Sailboat came into my life. The boat was located in England so I went there to train professionally with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). Suffice it to say that up to then I had no idea what I didn’t know.

In 2014 my wife, Karen, and I moved back to the states and our yacht came along. A couple years later we sold our yacht (Tampa’s just not the Caribbean!) In 2018 I went back to England to advance my maritime training. There’s always more to learn! In 2019 I started delivering yachts. I’ve delivered more than two dozen since. Every day at sea I’m learning something new and getting paid to do what I love. How lucky can one guy get?!
